The Medical College

Islamic International Medical College (IIMC) is a private sector medical Institution established in 1996 Pakistan with a unique vision of combining Islamic ethical values with medical education. Its mission is to produce doctors who are equipped with best knowledge of medical sciences as well as are good practicing Muslims. It offers five years basic and clinical training leading to the degree of MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery). The college is recognized by the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council as well as by international bodies.

Aims & Objectives

IIMC was founded with sole purpose of providing quality education, disciplined behaviour and character building of the budding doctors. The graduating doctors are expected to be:

The college is located in the middle of sprawling green lawns of the historic premises of old Supreme Court building with beautiful orchids around, on Peshawar Road, in Rawalpindi Cantonment area. This historical building is constructed over an area of 40 Kanals and has 80,000 sq. feet covered area. IIMC has state-of-the-art labs, museums, dissection hall, mortuary, demonstration rooms, lecture halls, seminar rooms, library, laboratories, skill lab and cafeterias. The shopping area of Sadar is at a walking distance. Various reputed commercial banks are easily approachable. There are several 3-5 star hotels nearby. Telegraph and Post Office are also at a walking distance.

Affiliated Teaching Hospitals

  • Pakistan Railways Teaching Hospital:

The Hospital is located in Westridge, a densely populated area of Rawalpindi. It is a unique collaboration of private-public sector partnership in health sector. Under this collaboration, IIMCT have been given full control of Railways Hospital for 66 years. IIMC Trust provided faculty, staff, high tech equipment to transform this hospital due to 400 bed teaching hospital. All departments of this hospital are upgraded to match with the standards of tertiary care. This has led to recognition of all five of its major departments i.e. Medicine, Surgery, Gynecology & Obstetrics, Pediatrics and Anesthesia for FCPS training by College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan. This hospital is a true general public hospital so there is rich teaching material for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. To meet the academic needs two lecture theaters and seven demonstration rooms were added in the hospital. IIMCT provides completely free health services to Railways beneficiary. The Trust is under taking construction of a new block comprising an academic section, Physiotherapy department, outdoor clinics and additional 100 beds. This will allow introduction of services in additional specialized areas.

  • Islamic International Medical Complex:

Islamic International Medical Complex is part of Riphah International University Islamabad Campus. It is located on 7th Avenue close to CDA (Capital Development Authority) offices in Sector G-7/4 of Islamabad. It is 100-bedded tertiary care hospital providing State-Of-The-Art health facilities. This hospital augments IIMCT Pakistan Railway Hospital and completes PM&DC requirements of 500 beds.

Hearts International Hospital is a highly specialized hospital delivering high-tech care in cardiology, pulmonology, gastroenterology and many other areas. This institute is run by the people who have national and international repute in cardiology and cardiac surgery. The hospital further augments teaching facilities for undergraduate and postgraduate students and is over and above mandatory requirements of PM&DC.

Maj. Gen. (R) Prof. Masood Anwar
Dean, Faculty of Health & Medical Sciences

Maj Gen (R) Prof. Masood Anwar, HI(M); B.Sc. MCPS (Clin Path), FCPS (Path) has served as Professor of Pathology (Haematology) in Armed Forces Institute of Pathology and Army Medical College for 13 years. He established Armed Forces Bone Marrow Transplant Centre, first in public sector in Pakistan. He is former Commandant Armed Forces Bone Marrow Transplant Centre, Commandant Armed Forces Institute of Pathology and Principal of Army Medical College. He has also been Executive Director, National Institute of Health. He has been conferred Fellowship of Pakistan Academy of Medical Sciences and College of Pathologists Pakistan. Currently he is President Pakistan Association of Pathologists, Vice President Pakistan Thalassemia Welfare Association. He is also member of Council of College of Pathologists Pakistan. He has more than 20 years experience of teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate medical students. He has more than 200 research publications and has contributed in several books.
