Muhammad Saud Khan
Muhammad Saud Khan has spent nearly three decades at the intersection of technology, enterprise leadership, and academia. A former CEO of a software development and consulting firm, he has spent decades delivering technology-driven solutions for government agencies, multilateral organizations, and private enterprises - and that depth of real-world experience shapes everything he does at Riphah.
As Director of Digital Learning, his work is guided by a simple but powerful conviction: digital transformation is fundamentally a human endeavor. Technology, in his view, is only as valuable as the people it empowers.
That philosophy found its fullest expression in the Coursera@Riphah Project - a three-year initiative that Saud Khan led from 2021 to 2024, and which grew into one of the most successful digital learning transformations in Pakistani higher education.
Riphah became the first Pakistani university to adopt a large-scale blended learning model integrating global MOOCs with local classroom experiences - a model that Saud Khan envisioned, championed, and delivered. The project earned Riphah the Coursera 2024 Maximizing Impact Award for Asia Pacific, making Riphah the first Pakistani university to be recognized on this global stage.
Beyond the university, Saud Khan is a founding member of the Internet Society (ISOC) Islamabad, board member of Agile Pakistan (AgilePK), and an advisor to multiple companies and early-stage ventures. His research focuses on software engineering, project management, and the future of work - keeping Riphah's digital agenda connected to where industry is actually heading.
