MPhil Islamic Studies

Introduction

The MPhil Islamic Studies is a two years degree program for males and females. The academic program is envisioned primarily for the students who desire an intensive introduction to Islamic thought and primary Islamic sources to elaborate solutions for the issues and challenges faced by the contemporary Muslim world.

 

Scope of the Program

 

 

The scope of the MPhil Islamic Studies program is given below:

 

  • The program will contribute valuable research in the field of Islamic social sciences and humanities.
  • The program will provide competent faculty to the National and International academic community.
  • The program will provide an opportunity for the graduates of Madāris (Religious Seminaries) to increase their academic excellence in the field of knowledge and research.
  • The program will create job opportunities in the field of Islamic Studies at college and university levels.
  • The program will open opportunities for higher education (Ph.D. Islamic Studies) in the universities of the country and overseas
  • Eligibility Criteria

     

     

    The candidates having any qualification from the following categories are eligible to apply for admission in the MPhil Islamic Studies program:

     

    • BA/ BS (Hons) Islamic Studies with CGPA 2.50/ 4.00 in semester system
    • MA Islamic Studies or equivalent degree in the relevant subject with CGPA 2.50/4.00 or second division in the annual system from an HEC recognized university/ Degree Awarding Institute (DAI)

     

    Al-Shahdah Al-Aalmiyah (with HEC equivalence certificate) from any HEC recognized wafaq or institution

Male:

Dress shirts and dress pants along with well-maintained dress shoes are mandatory. Boys are not allowed to wear jeans, casual clothes, joggers, T-Shirts and open shirts

Female:

Dress should be modest, soft colors and covering whole body except face and hand, adhering to Islamic values.

Note:

  • The head scarf is mandatory for female students, and it should cover their head, hair & neck properly.
  • Leggings are not allowed.
  • Tight fitting, fancy or trendy Shalwar /Qameez, embroidery or any other ornamental work is strictly forbidden.
