BS (Hons) Media Production

The four-year bachelor’s programmes would be split into two halves of 2 years each. Students will be studying for the initial two years in Pakistan at RIMS, later on they will have option to join University of Bedfordshire, UK to complete their further two years of studies. The University of Bedfordshire, in this case would award the degree. The students who wish to complete their programme at RIMS will be awarded with the degree of International University.

Students who take the single BS (Hons) Media Production will gain a broad understanding of media institutions, technologies and products together with practical experience of working in one or more media forms such as animation, journalism, multimedia, photography, radio, and video. The programme aims to provide students, at a practical level, with the planning production and editing skills to be able to make imaginative and effective productions while at an intellectual level it integrates these skills with a critical, historical and theoretical understanding of the media as a profession and social force.

Students completing the degree will not only have the knowledge and skills to make useful contributions to the media industries but will have acquired experience and confidence needed to develop independent practices and ways of thinking.

About The Courses

You will experience the process in which media products are created and the social and cultural factors that shape and influence the creative process. You will explore these issues through substantial production work together with reflective critical analysis of your own and other people’s work. Most of media products are produced by teams of people, so you will develop the ability to work in groups. You will utilize practical skills such as budgeting and time management and then combine them with technical production skills.

Career Oppertunities

Career paths that open to the students include film, television, freelance and independent television production and journalism.

About  The Courses

The television production course enables you to explore all aspects of the moving image and learn the key production skills. You will need to turn your ideas into realized projects. The course enables you to explore digital moving image production across a wide range of interconnected disciplines-from narrative fiction and documentary production; while at the same time developing your skills in cinematography, sound, design, editing, lighting, script writing, directing and producing.

Career Oppertunities

The course will prepare you for careers in the television industry including terrestrial, satellite broadcasting television channels. Other career opportunities include television advertising, public relations and marketing, production houses, media houses, freelance producers
