The first Library was established in 1994. Presently RIU has three main libraries & 4 learning resource centers with 20 staff members out of which 15 are professionals with master and bachelor degrees in Library and Information Science. Libraries have reasonable collection in medical, engineering, business administration, pharmacy and computer sciences books, journal/magazines and other resources.

Library is managed by university librarian who is an officer of the University, and report directly to the Vice Chancellor. Library is funded by the University and Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. It is fully equipped for undergraduate post graduate research facilities. Libraries provide ideal educational environment to the student, faculty & researcher to concentrate in their work

RIU library has developed “Riphah Information Portal” which provides web accessible information resources, thus making easy access to advanced learning facilities. This Portal brings the first rate  references to the computer screen of the user .It  is equipped with dictionaries, thesaurus, rich multinational files, books, online Journals, Magazines, audio/video, presentation and other learning resources. It is ideal for student and faculty, researchers, life time learners etc..  

Riphah Information Portal provides Access to following resources:

• More than 80,000 books (full text) all subjects.
• 20 online international databases. (Full text).
• 10 million articles.(online access).
• 20,000 magazines/journals (full text with bibliographical information).
• 30 years back data ob ACM on database management and related topics.
• Management Library (covering 72 popular categories of subjects with index 675 topics).
• Full text access to World Bank and Asian Development Bank Resources.
• Access to over 400 national and international university’s online public access catalogs and other research activities.
• Specialized databases on Medical related subjects, books, journals and articles, etc.

Reference desk provides access to more than 1200 dictionaries, 3 encyclopedias, and other reference sources like Hand Books, Year books, Statistical data, Surveys etc.

Riphah Information Portal has access to 20 Online Data bases on Medical, Engineering, Pharmacy, Social Science, Religion, Management Science and other disciplines,

RIU facilitates its user to keep them updated on local issues, politics, national and international events and business activities. It also provides access to information on finance , stock market and investments by providing access to national and international print and electronic media.

Presently “Information Portal” is available at campus only. In future this facility will be available to the students, researchers and faculty at their residences so that they can have the access to requisite information around the clock.

The construction of the purpose build new campus of the university is under process where the central library will be established with all enhanced facilities and resources. Students will have the access for virtual learning environment (VLE).
